Notes and AI
Does the AI write the note for me?
It drafts the note from what you selected and typed. You review, edit, and sign it. Nothing is final until you sign.
Does the AI choose billing codes?
No. Coding stays with the clinician and the billing team.
Where does the AI run?
On AWS, under a Business Associate Agreement with Amazon. AWS states that data processed by Amazon Bedrock is not used to train its models.
Can I use my own templates?
Yes. Your practice builds its templates, and each clinician can personalize them.
Practice and specialties
Is Vitae only for psychiatry?
No. Vitae is built for outpatient practices. Behavioral health came first, and other specialties are on the way.
Does Vitae work for practices with several providers and locations?
Yes. Scheduling covers multiple providers and locations.
Can supervised providers’ notes be co-signed?
Yes. Those notes go to the supervising provider’s review list, and the full history is kept.
What does the owner dashboard show?
Appointments, notes not complete, claims submitted, accounts receivable, providers, patients per provider, and patient retention.
Patients
How do patients sign in?
With a one-time code sent by email, after the practice invites them.
Which questionnaires are included?
PHQ-9, GAD-7, and PCL-5, completed by patients in the portal.
Can patients upload their insurance card?
Yes, in the patient portal.
Is the patient portal included in the subscription?
Yes.
Does Vitae send appointment reminders?
Yes. Telehealth visits are supported too. Online self-booking and a waitlist are in development.
Prescribing and billing
Can I send prescriptions to my patients’ pharmacies?
Yes. Vitae sends prescriptions electronically to pharmacies across the United States.
Can I prescribe controlled medications?
Yes. EPCS is included for providers who want to use it.
How are claims billed?
After a note is signed, a quality check confirms the superbill has what it needs. Vitae creates the superbill, and your biller submits the claim.
Security
How do staff sign in?
With passkeys, with an authenticator-app code as backup.
Do you sign a Business Associate Agreement?
Yes, with every practice.
How do I report a security concern?
